Clarity and Leadership

andy stanleyEarlier this year, I participated in Chic-fil-a Leadercast 2013. It was an absolutely all star lineup from which gleaned an amazing amount of information.  Andy Stanley started the day. Here is what I learned form this incredible leader.

A leader’s job is to take complicated things and make them simple.

Wherever there is growth, there comes complexity. Complexity is the enemy of clarity.

So, you must fight for clarity by finding your North Star.

How to find your North Star:

1. What are we doing?

2. Why are we doing it?

3. Where do I fit in?

If you are a good leader, everyone can answer the what and why. If you are a great leader, they will all have the same answer.
